अल्पसंख्यक कार्य मंत्रालय का गठन सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्रालय में से 29 जनवरी, 2006 को अधिसूचित अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों अर्थात् मुस्लिम, ईसाई, बौद्घ, सिक्ख, पारसियों तथा जैनों से संबंधित मामलों पर बल देने के लिए किया गया था| मंत्रालय का अधिदेश अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के लाभ के लिए समग्र नीति तैयार करना और योजना, समन्वयन, मूल्यांकन, विनियामक ढांचे एवं विकास संबंधी कार्यक्रम समीक्षा करना है|

सर्वव्यापी स्वच्छता के कवरेज के प्रयासों में तेजी लाने के लिए और स्वच्छता पर बल देने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी ने दिनांक 2 अक्टूबर, 2014 को स्वच्छ भारत मिशन की शुरूआत की थी। दो उप मिशन स्वच्छ भारत मिशन (ग्रामीण) और स्वच्छ‍ भारत मिशन (शहरी) के लिए मिशन समन्वयकर्त्ता पेयजल और स्वच्छता मंत्रालय (एमडीडब्ल्यूएस) के सचिव हैं। मिशन का उद्देश्य महात्मा गांधी की 150वीं वर्षगाँठ को सही रूप में श्रद्धांजलि देते हुए वर्ष 2019 तक स्वच्छ भारत की प्राप्ति करना है।

दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना का उद्देश्य योजना का उद्देश्य कौशल विकास और अन्य उपायों के माध्यम से आजीविका के अवसरों में वृद्धि कर शहरी और ग्रामीण गरीबी को कम करना है। मेक इन इंडिया, कार्यक्रम के उद्देश्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए सामाजिक तथा आर्थिक बेहतरी के लिए कौशल विकास आवश्यक है। दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना को आवास और शहरी गरीबी उपशमन मंत्रालय (एच.यू.पी.ए.) के तहत शुरू किया गया था। भारत सरकार ने इस योजना के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये का प्रावधान किया गया है।
